About
Through the last few years at Killearn Lakes Elementary School, the PTO has received many requests from parents asking for an easy way to provide support to the school. We understand that our KLES Families are extremely busy and don't always have the time to distribute fundraising items to coworkers, neighbors, and family. Therefore, we are thrilled to announce our first annual KLES BOOSTERS Fundraising Program! Our plan is to make this our one and ONLY fundraiser for the year. We will not have our typical Fall Fundraiser, and if Boosters is successful, we will also eliminate the Spring Cookie Dough fundraiser! This year you will not find a standard "PTO Membership" form in your child's backpack. The KLES Boosters Program will encompass these efforts, and with your help will be a successful program to be used for years to come! Our goal with this program is to raise $30,000 for KLES.
With our school's large population, we believe we can achieve this goal, and will keep you updated throughout the year as to our progress! The boosters program will be the basis for ALL of the KLES PTO's funds, which are responsible for so much at our KLES including Science Fair, Teacher Appreciation Week, Birthday Book Club, Grandparents' Day, Field Days, teacher allotments, and more. In 2009-2010, in addition to all the events and activities sponsored by the PTO, we were able to provide $8,000 for technology in the school (computers, smart boards, etc.), and an extra $5,000 to help cover textbooks and more for our 3rd-5th graders.
The KLES Boosters program is a great opportunity to maximize the benefits of our fundraising efforts. In the past, the PTO has only received approximately 40 percent of the funds raised through various sales-based fundraising efforts. All of the money raised through this fundraiser will go directly to our school.
As a KLES Booster you are eligible to receive: the Killearn Lakes Elementary School Car Magnets, KLES T Shirts, your KLES Yearbook, the awesome KLES insulated hot/cold beverage travel mug, as well as some other great KLES perks! Become a booster, and show off your special KLES "Booster Swag" along with amazing school spirit!
We love our KLES Families, and we know we can make the KLES Boosters Program a great success! Along with the new Boosters program, our plan for a revved up "Family Fun Day", and a host of other exciting ideas we have cooking, this is sure to be an AMAZING school year here at the BEST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN LEON COUNTY!!
We hope you will join us, along with other Killearn Lakes Elementary families, to support our school. Your support will help KLES continue to perform at an A+ level, despite the budget cuts our district faces for the 2010-2011 school year.
2010-2011 Board
The KLES PTO coordinates activities designed to bring parents, teachers, and administrators together to assist the classroom, carry out school improvements, expand technology, and help families with special needs.
The PTO supports activities such as Family Fun Night, holiday giving, fifth grade party, science fair, grandparents day, Art, Music, and PE enhancement, student awards, teacher appreciation, and more.

General Meetings of the PTO will be held throughout the year in the evening at dates and times to be announced. Meetings are open to the public and parents are invited and encouraged to attend. Business matters that require approval will be by vote of the elected PTO Board.
We encourage all families to join the PTO and help support all of these wonderful opportunities. Together we make a difference.
